UAP student placed 1st runner up in the ‘Sampreeti-E-Progati,’ an open mic speech competition

 

Samia Sharmin from the Department of Architecture, UAP was placed 1st runner up in the Grand Finale of “Sampreeti-E-Progati”, an open mic speech competition held on 27th July, 2019. 24 contestants, selected from 12 universities, madrasas and colleges of Dhaka city, participated in the final round.

Mr. Touhidul Islam, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Peace and Conflict, University of Dhaka distributed the prize money and trophy among the winners. Ms Mahmuda Sarwar from Southeast University was the Champion, whereas Samia Sharmin, UAP became the 1st runner up. Samia received a medal, a certificate and prize money of Tk. 30,000.00

The competition was an initiative by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) under the project “Social Action and Mobilization for Prevention of Radicalization and Extremism through Enhanced and Targeted Interventions”.

Before the final round, Directorate of Students’ Welfare, UAP organized an intra-university open speech competition on 26 June 2019. Out of 35 competitors from various departments, Samia Sharmin, Arch and Shahriar Islam Shovon, L&HR, secured the 1st and 2nd positions respectively. Well done Samia! We are proud of you.
